I worked with Connexions Nottinghamshire to run a six week Summer School this year with Refugee/Asylum Seeker young people who had newly arrived in the country.
There were three other Advisors working with the group and we used the bronze arts award as a framework for integrating the young people in UK society. There were some excellent outcomes in terms of sharing of cultural knowledge from all over the worlds and improving english skills as well.
We evidenced the young people's work mainly through flip video as their skills in written and verbal communication were particularly poor. There were 8 young people from the group who achieved the bronze award and they have all gone on to get places in Colleges.
