Arts Award and Art UK Superpower of Looking resource pack

Find out how to link Art UK's Superpower of Looking programme to your Arts Award delivery across Discover, Explore and Bronze.

Arts Award and Curriculum for Excellence

Curriculum for Excellence aims to raise achievement for all young people aged 3 – 18 in Scotland, developing their skills, knowledge and understanding. This resource shows you how Arts Award can work with Curriculum for Excellence.

Arts Award and Employability

How progressing onto Silver and Gold levels helps develop skills for education, work and life

This resource is designed to support Arts Award advisers who are looking to make links between our qualifications and the development of employability skills among young people. Whilst these skills can be linked to all levels of Arts Award, this resource looks in particular at Silver and Gold awards and is designed to be used alongside the employability mapping tool.

Arts Award and History

Arts Award can fit with arts activities you already provide, and be embedded into the curriculum. It can also provide a framework for cross-curricular programmes within the arts and across other subjects.

This resource shows how Arts Award can be mapped to the  History curriculum for Key Stage 1, 2 and 3.

Arts Award and PSHE

This resource aims to support advisers who wish to embed some topics or themes from the PSHE curriculum into their Arts Award delivery. You will find some ideas and suggestions for how you might link each part of Discover, Explore and Bronze to different PSHE outcomes, at different key stages.

You will also find some links to other resources or blog posts that you might find useful or might inspire some ideas for your Arts Award delivery.

Arts Award and Takeover Day

How can Takeover Day activities be used for Arts Award?

Arts Award Discover and Your Arts Week

This resource is designed to help you make easy links between Arts Week in your school and Arts Award Discover. With this resource we hope to make it simpler and more time-effective for schools to run Arts Award Discover alongside their existing Arts Week activities.

Arts Award journey posters

These colourful illustrated posters have been designed for display in Arts Award centres to help visually explain the journey for each Arts Award level.  They should be used alongside the adviser toolkit.  We hope they will provide a useful visual aid to centres and young people during their Arts Award projects.

Arts Award centres can request multiple copies here. These downloadable PDFs are best printed at A3.

Arts Award levels at a glance

This resource is designed to help advisers compare what's expected of young people at all five levels and determine the appropriate level for them.

Arts Award Youth Theatre Resource

This resource is a guide for how you might structure and deliver Arts Award with your youth theatre and see how the Arts Award criteria can fit around your programmes of work. We would not recommend that you exactly replicate this
approach, but that you use it as a template to prompt your own ideas.

When making plans to take your youth theatre though Arts Award, consider the areas of your activity which would contribute towards the qualification and which areas could be adapted.

BBC 10 Pieces Trailblazers resources

Arts Award and BBC Ten Pieces are working together to support organisations who would like to deliver Arts Award’s unique qualifications alongside their BBC Ten Pieces Trailblazers activity.

These mapping tools were created to support organisations who wish to deliver Arts Award Discover alongside the BBC Ten Pieces project. To find out more about BBC Ten Pieces see www.bbc.co.uk/tenpieces.

Tameside Cultural Services and Curious Minds have also created a specially designed arts log at Explore level that children can use to record their evidence for their Arts award. Please note that you still need to complete the Arts Award training and use the Arts Award Adviser toolkit alongside using this arts log.
