Dance United Yorkshire

(Last edited: Friday, 3 August 2018, 10:54 AM)

Dance United Yorkshire is a Community Interest Company that works with
young people who are marginalised in society and whose potential is often
unrecognised or unfulfilled. Young people took part in an intensive Bronze Arts Award project, dancing for six hours a day, five days a week, and culminating in a sold-out performance.

Derbyshire County Council - Look After Children

(Last edited: Friday, 16 October 2015, 10:19 AM)

Derbyshire County Council (DCC) trained a large number of Residential Children’s Workers as Arts Award advisers. Children and young people are looked after in residential children’s homes, with foster carers, and in respite care.

Arts Award is now delivered in Derbyshire as part of a range of Additional and/or Alternative Provision for children in care, care leavers, vulnerable young people, and those at risk of being NEET (not in employment, education or training), and has been aligned to Derbyshire’s development of Social Pedagogy.

Arts Award has been evidenced as an effective tool for staff to build relationships with children and young people and help them learn through their own interests and passions.
