Alabaré E Zone is a young people’s drop in centre in Andover, Hampshire. The young people supported at the centre are aged between 13 and 25 experiencing issues such as homelessness, drink and drug abuse and domestic violence. Many students have learning difficulties and autism. In their first year delivering Arts Award, the centre has taken three groups totalling over 50 young people through to Bronze moderation.

Alabare runs The Junction, a drop in centre in Hampshire supporting young people aged between 13 and 25 who may be NEET, living in hostels, street homeless, have learning difficulties or have mental health issues.

For this Bronze Arts Award project, The Junction worked in partnership with Fixers, an initiative set up to support young people to create real change among their peers and in their communities.  By working with Fixers, students were able to deliver a social action project about an issue they felt strongly about, using music as their chosen art form.

Derbyshire County Council (DCC) trained a large number of Residential Children’s Workers as Arts Award advisers. Children and young people are looked after in residential children’s homes, with foster carers, and in respite care.

Arts Award is now delivered in Derbyshire as part of a range of Additional and/or Alternative Provision for children in care, care leavers, vulnerable young people, and those at risk of being NEET (not in employment, education or training), and has been aligned to Derbyshire’s development of Social Pedagogy.

Arts Award has been evidenced as an effective tool for staff to build relationships with children and young people and help them learn through their own interests and passions.

EOTAS1 (Education Other Than At School) Northumberland works across North and South East Northumberland to deliver arts activities to young people who are not attending school. The young people they work with are mostly 13 – 16 years old and have often had difficulties attending school due to chronic illness or long-term mental health issues. They delivered a Silver Arts Award project which involved young people creating books of stories, which they also animated.

Future Creative is a Community Interest Company working with children, young people and adults throughout the South East.

The Future Steps project was ran in Kent and Medway in partnership with CXK. It focused on youth engagement and raising employability and enterprise skills among NEET young people (not in education, employment and training).  Future Creative accredited the Future Steps project using Bronze Arts Award.

Young people from Islington Youth Offending service who were not in education, employment, or training, or were high-risk individuals, took part in the Summer Arts College programme. The group learnt a range of filmmaking techniques and produced their own series of short films, whilst working towards their Silver Arts Award.

Link Education Centre Sedgemoor offered Bronze as part of an enrichment programme for students. Students were given opportunities to work within Art and Design, English, ICT and PE as part of their awards.

Noise Solution are a social enterprise based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, who use music and technology to work with hard-to-reach and vulnerable young people who are disengaged from the mainstream. Their primary aim is to improve the wellbeing and confidence of young people through helping them achieve something they feel proud about. Bronze Arts Award forms the framework for much of their work with young people.

Peshkar Productions supported 20 girls aged 13-16 from two schools in Oldham to gain Bronze Arts Awards using drama and stop motion animation.

People United is an innovative charity based in Canterbury that explores how the arts and creativity can grow kindness, empathy and a sense of common humanity.

Their Role Models project was delivered in association with Lunsford Primary School and supported with investment from Artswork, the South East Arts Council Bridge organisation. Through the social action project the children were able to make a difference to, and gain a greater respect for, the older people they met in their local community.

Anthos Arts are an Applied Physical Theatre Collaborative based in Devon. They provided a youth theatre programme called Wings in the Way. The project’s aim was to allow young people to learn skills in physical theatre and also to discuss the meaning of community and the effect of digital social networks on community, as well as gain a Bronze Arts Award.

Bath Festivals is the charitable organisation responsible for the Bath
International Music Festival, the Independent Bath Literature Festival and the Telegraph Bath Children’s Literature Festival. Bath Festivals also runs Bath Box Office ticket agency. Bath Festivals have been delivering Arts Award Bronze over the last two years alongside their Young Curators Programme with schools.

Beat It Percussion delivered Arts Award alongside their children's drumming workshops at Drum Camp, a festival in Bungay, Suffolk. They offered Discover, Explore and Bronze levels to be completed within the three days of the festival.

The Civic Arts Centre is a thriving community arts centre and theatre in
Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire. The centre has been delivering Arts Award for over
three years and has so far taken 150 young people through to moderation. At
the Civic, young people have the opportunity to take part in a wide range of
art forms including music, dance, drama, new media and technical production.

Cornerhouse is one of the UK’s leading centres for contemporary visual art, film and digital media. They have recently delivered Silver Arts Award.

Create Studios is an award winning digital media centre in the cultural hub of Swindon. They have recently delivered Bronze Arts Award using programming and animation to re-engage disengaged learners.

Eastside Educational Trust recently worked with 20 young people doing their Silver Arts Award as part of the BFI Film Academy, a filmmaking course delivered for 16-19 year olds.

English PEN is a free speech and literature charity based at Free Word in London. Delivers Arts Awards at multiple levels.

Full House Theatre is an arts-based charity in Bedfordshire and delivers a range of education and outreach projects for children and young people. Their projects are with a variety of groups, from school programmes and after school sessions to holiday projects or partnership projects with local community groups.

Harrow Arts Centre is a multi-artform venue in North London. They have been delivering Arts Award for over three years and have had 214 Arts Awards moderated and more delivered within, and submitted by, schools through their outreach work. They offer Gold Arts Award through their Young Associate programme.
